Colegio San Agustin Makati Grade School Student Government together with Mrs. Contreras, Mrs. Padilla and I went to Pampanga to distribute packs to the victims of the flood. This is no longer a relief operation but part of the rehabilitation process for the people in Masantol, Pampanga.
The GS Department made partnership with SACOP (Social Action Center of Pampanga) under the directorship of Fr. Francis Dizon. The center made it possible for the department to reach out to the victims of the flood even if the waters have long been gone. The center handpicked Balibago Elementary School in Masantol to become our beneficiary.
Check out the photo blog of the outreach activity...
In order to go to Balibago Elementary School we have to ride the banca. It's a 15-20 minute boat ride...
I hope the banca is sturdy enough to cross the river... geeezzzz!
A simple welcome board was put up for us to feel "at home". :)

Much to our surprise the principal of the school, together with some teachers, prepared a simple merienda for all of us - biscuits, pancit canton, pineapple chunks.

Pupils made sacrifices for 2 days to generate funds for this outreach activitiy. God bless you CSA -GS...
We are grateful to God that we were given this opportunity to help.
T'was a tiring but fruitful day. We thank the Lord that we were able to extend help.
Reflection for the day from St. Augustine: "Those who owned something in the world should freely wish it to be shared amongst all."
And share we did!
May the teachings of Augustine on social justice and concern for the common good move us to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters...
"Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the
remainder is needed by others." (St. Augustine)
