November 2016
The church below is the same church Henri spent his Sundays celebrating mass and receiving the other sacraments. At the age of ten, he already decided that he will become a priest.
Upon our arrival at the church, we were greeted by the parish priest (I forgot his name, sorry... but I will update this blog once I get his name.) He was overwhelmed by our presence. He was so excited in welcoming a bunch of pilgrims from the Philippines.
The church was being renovated to welcome more pilgrims after the beatification. Here, we celebrated mass together with the parishioners who were also overwhelmed by our presence. The church was packed to the brim. I think this was one of the occasions when the church is full of people.
Our very own NDV pilgrim-priest, Fr. Kiko, concelebrated. He read the gospel but the rest of the mass was taken cared of the parish priest. Again, he was perhaps full of the Holy Spirit that he almost sang all parts of the mass. Hehehe! It was an animated, participative and alive mass!
I have no picture, but I was assigned here to lead the congregation in singing the entrance hymn. We all sang "Purihin Ang Panginoon". No songsheets needed. Who wouldn't know it by heart, huh?
I got hold of the different documents all pertaining to Henri Grialou's baptism and registration. These are all relics na!
This is the baptismal font where Henri Grialou was baptized when he was a baby.
On foot, we went to the childhood house of Henri.
This marker is placed right in front of the house
of the Grialous in Le Gua.
I am now in front of the house of Henri. Pilgrims flocked to take a glimpse of the house. Unfortunately, the house is closed, It is not yet owned by the NDVs nor the Carmelite family. It is owned by a family.(Not sure)
This is the "famous" staircase Henri would usually use as a shortcut for him to reach the church as fast as he can. :-)
A panoramic photo of Le Gua. Pardon the outcome. Weebly doesn't have an application for panoramic photos to be uploaded yet.
So, eto na lang. :-)
Another beautiful discovery, this time of Le Gua, during autumn.
Who is Henri Grialou?
