a poem written by John Paul II when he was a parish priest and auxiliary bishop of Krakow in Poland
With mercury we measure pain
as we measure the heat of bodies and air;
but this is not how to discover our limits–
you think you are the center of things.
If you could only grasp that you are not:
the center is He,
and He, too, finds no love--
why don’t you see?
The human heart–what is it for?
Cosmic temperature.
Heart.
Mercury.
On a spiritual note, we tend to focus on ourselves and forget that God is the center of all things. In this busy world that’s a reality we should embrace. Look at the cross… that is the image of a God looking for love. He is at the center, yes, but he is alone…
Yan ang sabi ni Manang!
